Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at support@chai-acs.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What is CHAI ACS and its mission?

Founded by Josephine Zomayah Attisha, CHAI ACS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac communities.

Our mission is to advance institutional capacity, unify community voice, and partner on cultural preservation initiatives that sustain and enrich our communities across the homeland and diaspora.

We focus on three core pillars:

1. Capacity Building and Institutional Advisory
Through structured technical assistance, governance support, compliance guidance, and funding strategy development, we strengthen the operational foundations of mission-driven organizations.

2. Collaboration and Community Advancement
We facilitate partnerships, cross-sector alignment, and coordinated initiatives that reduce duplication and amplify collective impact.

3. Cultural Preservation
We partner with community leaders and organizations to safeguard heritage, language, traditions, and historical narratives for future generations.

How is CHAI ACS funded?

CHAI ACS is supported through philanthropic contributions, grants, program service revenue, and community partnerships. We operate with a commitment to fiscal transparency, compliance integrity, and responsible stewardship of all resources entrusted to us.

Why is CHAI ACS important?

CHAI ACS provides structured institutional support tailored specifically to the Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac communities.

We combine governance expertise, funding strategy, compliance systems, and cultural understanding to strengthen nonprofit sustainability and long-term community impact. Our work bridges professional standards with cultural stewardship, ensuring organizations remain competitive in public funding environments while rooted in community values.

What services does CHAI ACS provide?

CHAI ACS offers structured institutional advisory services through its RISE framework, including:

• Government contract and proposal readiness
• Grant development and funding strategy
• Organizational governance and compliance infrastructure
• Revenue and institutional growth strategy
• Cultural preservation partnerships

Each engagement begins with a readiness assessment and alignment review to determine the appropriate service pathway.

Does CHAI ACS provide one-time grant writing services?

CHAI ACS operates as an institutional advisory partner. While proposal development may be part of a broader engagement, our focus is on strengthening long-term governance, compliance systems, and funding readiness rather than providing isolated transactional services.

How can my organization work with CHAI ACS?

Organizations interested in partnership may submit a RISE inquiry form through our website. All inquiries are reviewed for alignment, readiness, and institutional fit. A member of our team will follow up to discuss next steps.

How does CHAI ACS support cultural preservation?

CHAI ACS collaborates with community leaders and organizations to support storytelling initiatives, documentation of traditions, heritage education, and preservation partnerships that sustain our collective identity across generations.

How does CHAI ACS ensure accountability and transparency?

We prioritize compliance integrity, fiscal responsibility, documentation standards, and governance oversight in all initiatives. Leadership operates under board supervision, and strategic direction aligns with long-term sustainability and measurable impact.

How can I stay informed about CHAI ACS initiatives?

Follow CHAI ACS on social media at @chai.acs and visit https://chai-acs.org/ to subscribe for updates, initiatives, and announcements. We periodically host community briefings and informational sessions to share developments and opportunities.
